Map - Bryan Heights (Mound) Railroad No Title Block Pencil on thin drafting paper North arrow: no North direction: top of map Compass bearings: no Scale: unknown (roughly scales at 1" = 1450' This map shows a railroad extending from the south bank of the Brazos River (old channel) to Bryan Heights (now Bryan Mound) and thence to the shoreline of the Gulf of Mexico. At the time the map was drawn, the railroad apparently extended only from the river to Bryan Heights, where it ended at a point marked "Present Terminus of R.R." The map shows a planned extension of the railroad extending from Bryan Mound southeast to the shoreline of the Gulf, which, at the time, was farther inland than it is now. The Intracoastal Waterway is not shown, implying that the map was drawn before the Intracoastal was dredged.
