Scope & Content |
Set of letters found in the Coveney House of Quintana, Texas, by Ms. Biggs in 1936. The Coveney House was built at the turn of the 20th Century by the Seaburn family for the Coveney family . The house has been moved and is preserved at Quintana County Park. Transcription: Velasco Jan 7th 1895 My dear Daisy As your Papa is waiting for my letter to take to Velasco I cannot write a long one this time I hope to hear from you again today or tomorrow I wrote you on Friday after receiving yours, All of us were at Sunday school and church yesterday. Mr Stevens will assume control as superintendent of S. school next Sunday. Joel went to V_ last evening to take Mrs. Goodhall(?) to church last night, to night he stays to hear a lecture, to morrow Mr. Searcy is married, Terese expects to go but I do not think I will .
