Set of letters found in the Coveney House of Quintana, Texas, by Ms. Biggs in 1936. The Coveney House was built at the turn of the 20th Century by the Seaburn family for the Coveney family . The house has been moved and is preserved at Quintana County Park. Transcription: Sur Mer June 6th 1896 My dear Daisy I am writing this Saturday morning about sunrise I got up that time every morning . Your Papa with a great many others, go to Angleton to a political meeting to be held there today has to be at Velasco between 8 & 9 O'clock so I hope this will reach you tomorrow. I reckon you are studying hard and I trust will do your best Terese has been right uneasy about Mr(s?). Robbins He is at Bay City and has been complaining ___? page2 sometime but has been up she got a letter on Thursday which made her anxious and Joel offered to take her to him she waited to hear again yesterday which she did stating he was better she goes to Velasco to day for Mr and Mrs Red. Mrs Red may spend next week with us Maggie and Julia Beall were down yesterday Terese went with them (____?) call on Sarah Kennedy and Bill(?) Munson the latter attend Sunday school as well as do Maggie and Julia share a very large class. Will send you the money just as soon as I find out whether Lucy is going to commencement or not. I wrote you to get the white dress page 4 if you wanted it. It is so awfully dry here we still have a little drinking water but the flowers are burnt up.
